SafeDelete adds a grace period to the rm command, by savingfiles to an alternate directory (like a trashcan or recycle bin) beforeactually removing them. Files in the alternate directory are given newnames so multiple files can be saved without worrying about clobbers. Theundelete command will restore a file to its original directory along withits original permissions, timestamps, etc. Undelete has both a command lineand an ncurses interface (which displays a scrollable list of all the filesyou can recover). SafeDelete also features a utility which will permanentlydelete files from the trash as they age.
